Printing Meter Information

Clicking the Print button in the Meters browser opens a window that lets you print meter information (including meter readings). This window contains:

• Meter: Lets you restrict the print-out to a particular range of meter identification codes.
• Building: Lets you restrict the print-out to a particular range of buildings.
• Unit: Lets you restrict the print-out to a particular range of equipment.
• Summary: Produces a report in summary format. This summary has two lines for each meter: one line telling when MainBoss created a Meter table entry for the meter, and a second line telling the most recent reading for the meter.
• Detail: Produces a more detailed report. The report lists all recorded readings for the selected meters, not just the most recent reading.

  The report also contains a column giving an origin code. The code is W if the meter reading was entered as part of closing a work order, and M for meter readings entered in other ways (typically through the Meters browser).

• No Grouping: Specifies that the print-out should not have any particular grouping. Output is sorted according to meter name.
• Building: Specifies that meters should be grouped together according to the building that contains each meter.
• Preview: Displays the report on the screen. This gives you a chance to see what will be printed out when you click Print.
• Print: Prints the report on the current printer. (The name of the current printer is shown above the row of buttons.)
• Print Setup: Lets you change printers if your computer is connected to more than one printer. It also lets you change the page setup for the printer, including paper size, margin size, and so on.
• Export: Writes meter information to a file, in a format that can be used by other programs. There are two possible formats:
  • Text format writes the information as plain text.
  • DBF format writes the information as a DBF database. This can be opened by programs like Microsoft Excel and Access. For more information, see Exporting Data.
• Close: Closes the print window.
