MainBoss makes it easy to print information on shipment receipts. To begin, click the Print button in the Receipt browser. (For more on the Receipt browser, see Browsing Receipts.) When you click Print, MainBoss displays a window that contains the following:
- Date: Lets you restrict the output to shipments received in a given range of dates.
- Waybill: Lets you restrict the output to shipments with a given range of waybill numbers.
- Vendor: Lets you restrict the output to shipments from a given range of vendors.
- Detail: The options in this area control the amount of information that MainBoss includes in the output.
- Summary: If you select this, the output contains one line for each shipment. The line gives the date of receipt, the waybill number, the corresponding purchase order number, the number of different items received and the total cost of the shipment.
- Detail: If you select this, the output contains detailed information on each receipt. Instead of just summarizing the number of different items received, it gives information on each item, including the quantity received and the cost of those items.
- Include location: If you select this, the output contains the same information that you receive with Detail. In addition, the output tells the building, storeroom and location where each item was stored upon receipt.
- Preview: Displays the selected shipment receipts on the screen. This gives you a chance to see what will be printed out when you click Print.
- Print: Prints the selected shipment receipts on the current printer. (The name of the current printer is shown above the row of buttons.)
- Print Setup: Lets you change printers if your computer is connected to more than one printer. It also lets you change the page setup for the printer, including paper size, margin size, and so on.
- Export: Writes receipt information to a file, in a format that can be used by other programs. There are two possible formats:
- Text format writes the information as plain text.
- DBF format writes the information as a DBF database. This can be opened by programs like Microsoft Excel and Access. For more information, see Exporting Data.
- Close: Closes the print window.
