The Receipt browser lets you examine previously created shipment receipts. For example, if you want to edit an existing receipt, you begin by opening the Receipt browser.
For general information on browsers, see Browsers and Editors.
To start the Receipt browser, select Inventory —> Browse Receipts from the menu. The browser window contains the following:
For information about creating or editing receipts, see Recording Items Received. |
If you tell MainBoss to include the items, the Items list of the new receipt will contain the same items and item quantities as the original receipt. Otherwise, the list will be blank and you will have to add items in the usual way.
If the corresponding purchase order is still open, the effect is as if the shipment was never received. For example, suppose that the original PO ordered four forklift tires and a shipment receipt specifies that one of those tires has been received (meaning that three tires are still on order). If you delete the receipt, you tell MainBoss that the one tire wasn't received after all; therefore, MainBoss adjusts inventory records to indicate that all four tires are still on order.
If the corresponding purchase order is closed, deleting a receipt has no effect on MainBoss's inventory counts.
Note: Once you specify that goods have been received, they are considered received even if you void the purchase order. |
For more on receipts, see Purchase Orders and Recording Shipment Information.
