This report provides information about spare parts. In particular, it gives you a chance to list which units use which spare parts, or which spare parts apply to which units.
To produce a spare parts report, select Units —> Reports —> Spare Parts from the menu. MainBoss opens a window that contains the following:
- Building: Lets you restrict the report to units inside a specified range of buildings.
- Unit: Lets you restrict the report to units with a specified range of identification codes.
- Inventory Item: Lets you restrict the report to a given range of inventory items.
- Building/Unit: Organizes the report into a section for each building. Within each section are subsections for each unit. Inside each of these subsections is a line for each spare part associated with the corresponding unit; each line gives the name of the spare part, its inventory identification code, and the quantity of that item used by the unit. (For example, if a particular type of repair always takes ten feet of electrical cord, the electrical cord could be considered a "spare part" and the quantity used would be "ten feet.")
- Item: Organizes the report into a section for each inventory item. Within each section are subsections for each building. Inside each of these subsections is a line for each unit in that building which uses the given inventory item as a spare part. Each line gives the name of the unit, its identification code, and the quantity used by the piece of equipment.
- Preview: Displays the report on the screen. This gives you a chance to see what will be printed out when you click Print.
- Print: Prints the report on the current printer. (The name of the current printer is shown above the row of buttons.)
- Print Setup: Lets you change printers if your computer is connected to more than one printer. It also lets you change the page setup for the printer, including paper size, margin size, and so on.
- Export: Writes the information of the report to a file, in a format that can be used by other programs. There are two possible formats:
- Text format writes the information as plain text.
- DBF format writes the information as a DBF database. This can be opened by programs like Microsoft Excel and Access. For more information, see Exporting Data.
- Close: Closes the print window.
