When work orders are issued they can be assigned a work category. Examples of work categories might be mechanical repairs, electrical repairs, shutdown, safety inspection, etc. Work categories should not be confused with trades. For example, more than one trade might be required on an overhaul job.
If a particular work category is used more frequently than others, you can use Administration —> Preferences —> Work Orders to specify that as the default work category.
The Work Categories table is a simple table; for more information, see Simple Tables. You access the Work Categories browser with Work Orders —> Tables —> Work Categories. Entries in the Work Categories table consist of:
For example, a code might be PLUMB and the description might be PLUMBING REPAIRS.
