Buildings

The Buildings table defines places where you perform maintenance on spaces or equipment, where you store your inventory, and/or where you received purchased goods. A building might be an industrial plant, a commercial or institutional building; it could even be a fleet of vehicles. Maintenance contractors might consider each customer a separate "building".

MainBoss is designed to handle multiple buildings; even if your organization only has one building, you must set up the Buildings table (with a single record for that one building).

You can use the Administration menu to specify that a particular building is your default building for work orders, for materials deliveries, and so on. For more information, see Preferences.

Note: If you intend to use MainBoss to print purchase orders, make sure that you record full address information for any building where shipments may be received. MainBoss puts this address information on purchase orders, to let vendors know where shipments should be delivered.
