This report displays the preventive maintenance tasks that use each inventory item. It also lists equipment and spaces where this item is used as a spare part.
Note: For more on allocating materials to preventive maintenance tasks, see Tasks. For more on designating an item as a spare part for a piece of equipment or a space, see Spare Parts. |
The report is divided into sections, with each section showing one inventory item. Within each section, there are a number of lines:
- Lines starting with Task indicate a preventive maintenance task that uses the item as a material.
- Lines starting with Scheduled indicate a unit (equipment or space) that has been assigned to a preventive maintenance task that uses the item.
- Lines starting with Spare Parts indicate a unit that uses the item as a spare part.
The first step to printing a "where used" report is to select Inventory —> Reports —> Inventory Where Used from the menu. MainBoss displays a window that contains the following:
- Inventory Item: Lets you restrict the report to a given range of items.
- Task: Lets you restrict the report to a given range of preventive maintenance tasks.
- Building: Lets you restrict the report to a given range of buildings.
- Unit: Lets you restrict the report to a given range of units (equipment or spaces).
- Preview: Displays the report on the screen. This gives you a chance to see what will be printed out when you click Print.
- Print: Prints the report on the current printer. (The name of the current printer is shown above the row of buttons.)
- Print Setup: Lets you change printers if your computer is connected to more than one printer. It also lets you change the page setup for the printer, including paper size, margin size, and so on.
- Export: Writes report information to a file, in a format that can be used by other programs. There are two possible formats:
- Text format writes the information as plain text.
- DBF format writes the information as a DBF database. This can be opened by programs like Microsoft Excel and Access. For more information, see Exporting Data.
- Close: Closes the print window.
