Creating an Override File

Override files are created in the directory that contains your MainBoss database. All such files have names of the form ovr####.txt where #### is a four-digit number corresponding to one of Microsoft's standard language designations. (For more about message files, see Custom Text Settings.)

To create a new override file you click Create Custom in the initial window for creating custom text (see Creating Custom Text.) MainBoss opens a window that contains the following:

• Language list: A list of all the languages recognized by Microsoft's regional settings. Click on the language most appropriate for the new messages you want to create. For example, if you want to change messages in U.S. English, you would typically choose English 0009 (as discussed in Custom Text Settings).
• Create: Creates a new override file under your database directory. The message file will have a name of the form ovr####.txt where #### is the four digits associated with the language currently selected in the language list.

  Once MainBoss has created the file, you will return to the previous window (the window for creating custom text). The override file will now appear in the list of message files.

• Cancel: Closes the window without creating a new override file.
