Equipment Types

The Equipment Types table makes it possible to group pieces of equipment into classes. For example, you might create classes like pumps, die-cutting machines, exhaust fans, and forklifts. While it is not necessary to create any equipment types at all, most MainBoss users find that such classes are a helpful method of organization.

Equipment types are used when entering information about pieces of equipment. For further information on recording equipment information, see Creating and Editing an Equipment Description.

The Equipment Types table is a simple table; for more information, see Simple Tables. You access the Equipment Types browser with Units —> Tables —> Equipment Types. Entries in the Equipment Types table consist of:

For example, a code might be FORK and the description might be FORKLIFT TRUCKS.
