You can print one or more task descriptions by selecting Work Orders —> Reports —> Print Tasks from the menu. MainBoss opens a window that lets you specify which tasks you want to print. The window contains the following:
- Task: Lets you specify the range of task codes that you want to print.
- Building: Lets you restrict the report to a given set of buildings.
- Unit: Lets you restrict the report to a given set of equipment and/or spaces—the drop-down list contains both equipment and spaces.
- Printing Options: These options let you specify what information should appear in the printed report.
- Include task properties: Specifies that the report should include information from the Properties section of the task.
- Include description: Specifies that the report should include the task description, given in the Description section of the task.
- Include labor information: Specifies that the report should include the labor information from the Labor section of the task.
- Include material information: Specifies that the report should include the materials estimates from the Material section of the task.
- Include scheduled units: Specifies that the report should include the unit information from the Assigned Units section of the task.
- Grouping: These options let you determine how the tasks will be sorted in the report.
- No Grouping: Selecting this means that tasks will be printed in order by task code.
- Unit: Selecting this means that tasks will be grouped according to the equipment or space with which they deal.
- Preview: Displays the selected task descriptions on the screen. This gives you a chance to see what will be printed out when you click Print.
- Print: Prints the selected task descriptions on the current printer. (The name of the current printer is shown above the row of buttons.)
- Print Setup: Lets you change printers if your computer is connected to more than one printer. It also lets you change the page setup for the printer, including paper size, margin size, and so on.
- Export: Writes task information to a file, in a format that can be used by other programs. There are two possible formats:
- Text format writes the information as plain text.
- DBF format writes the information as a DBF database. This can be opened by programs like Microsoft Excel and Access. For more information, see Exporting Data.
- Close: Closes the print window.
