There are two ways to specify that a unit uses an item as a spare part—you can use the Usage section of the item record, or you can use the Spare Parts section of the space or equipment record. When you click Add Spare Part in the Usage of an item record, MainBoss opens a window that contains the following:
- Building: A building that contains piece of equipment or space where this item is used as a spare part.
- Equipment: Click this if you are specifying that the item is used in a particular piece of equipment.
- Space: Click this if you are specifying that the item is used in a space.
- Unit: Displays all the equipment or spaces in the building specified. Select the one where this item is used as a spare part.
- Quantity: The quantity of this item that is used as a spare part for the equipment or space.
- Save & New: Saves the current record and clears fields in the window so you can enter a new record.
- Clone: Copies information from the current record and creates a new record containing the copied information.
- Delete: Deletes the current record.
- Save: Saves the current record, but leaves all data as is. You can then continue to edit the same record.
- Cancel: Closes the window. MainBoss discards any information in the window that hasn't already been saved.
