You begin specifying the spare parts for a unit in the Spare Parts section of the equipment or space record for the unit. For more information on equipment and space records, see Creating and Editing an Equipment Description and Creating and Editing a Space Description.
Clicking the Add Spare Part button in the Spare Parts section opens a window that contains the following:
- Inv. Item: Specifies an inventory item that can be regarded as a spare part for the associated equipment or space.
- Quantity: The number of these items that are used by the equipment or space.
- Minimum: The minimum number of these items that are supposed to be on hand at any time. (This is taken from your inventory records.)
- Maximum: The maximum number of these items that are supposed to be on hand at any time.
- On Hand: The actual number of these items currently on hand.
- On Order: The number of these items currently on order.
- Unit Cost: The cost of one such item.
- Save & New: Saves the current record and clears fields in the window so you can enter a new record.
- Clone: Copies most of the information from this record and creates a new record containing that information.
- Delete: Deletes the current record.
- Save: Saves the current record, but leaves all data as is. You can then continue to edit the same record.
- Cancel: Closes the window. MainBoss discards any information that hasn't already been saved by clicking Save.
