Entries in the Personnel table are displayed with an editor window that may contain the following:
- Code: A unique code identifying the worker (15 character maximum).
- Name: The name of the worker (40 characters maximum).
- Trade: A selection from the Trades table (see Trades) specifying a trade for this worker.
- Bus. Phone: The business phone number of the worker.
- Home Phone: The home phone number of the worker.
- Pager: The worker's pager number.
- Curr. Rate: The hourly rate which you currently pay the worker, or which you charge other people for the worker's labor.
- New Rate: If the labor costs for this worker are scheduled to change at some point in the future, you can record the new rate in this field. Starting on the "Eff. Date" (given below), MainBoss will charge labor costs at the new rate rather than the old. By recording a new rate ahead of time, you don't have to remember to change the rate exactly on the date that the new rate takes effect.
- Eff. Date: The date on which labor costs should be charged at the "New Rate" rather than the "Curr. Rate". (See the explanation of "New Rate" above.)
Note: After the effective date has passed, it's a good idea to update the "Curr. Rate" to the worker's new rate. |
- Comments: Any additional comments you want to make about this person.
- Save & New: Saves the current record and clears fields in the window so you can enter a new record.
- Clone: Creates a new table entry that has the same information as the current entry. The "Code" field in the new entry is blank, so that you can fill in a new code.
- Delete: Deletes the current entry.
- Save: Saves the current record, but leaves all data as is. You can then continue to edit the same record.
- Cancel: Closes the editor window. MainBoss discards any new information or changes that you haven't explicitly saved with Save.
