The Inventory Items Browser

The Inventory Items table contains records describing your inventory items. Entries in this table are used when specifying materials for work orders, spare parts for equipment and spaces, and items to be ordered on purchase orders. Therefore, setting up your Inventory Items table is often one of your first steps in preparing to use MainBoss.

The Inventory Items browser lets you add entries to the Inventory Items table and edit entries that are already there. To open the browser, select Inventory —> Browse Items from the menu. This opens a window that contains the following:

• Code: An identification code for each item.
• Description: A brief description of each item.
• Edit: Lets you change the currently selected entry. This opens the Inventory Item editor; for more information, see .
• New: Adds a new item to the list. This opens the Inventory Item editor; for more information, see .
• Clone: Adds a new item to the list, starting with information copied from the currently selected entry.
• Delete: Deletes the selected item from the table.
• Print: Prints all or part of the table.
• Search: Searches for a particular item in the table.
• Inventoried Items: Clicking this displays the normal Inventory Items table.
• Non-Inventoried Items: Clicking this displays non-inventory items.
• Done: Closes the window.
