The Archive Set browser displays all your existing archive sets. From the browser window, you can create new archive sets, restore old ones, or clear temporary files used to hold restored data.
To open the Archive Set browser, select Administration —> Archiving —> Browse from the menu. MainBoss displays a window that contains the following:
- Code: The identification code associated with each archive set.
- Comments: The comments entered when the archive set was created.
- Edit: Lets you edit information about an existing archive set (for example, changing the comments). To do this, click the archive set whose information you want to change, then click Edit.
- Archive: Creates a new archive set. MainBoss displays the window described in Archiving Your Data so that you can specify what you want to archive.
- Clear: Deletes any working files that have been created to hold the uncompressed data of a restored archive set. Getting rid of these working files frees up disk space when you have no immediate need to examine old archived data.
- Restore: Restores data from an existing archive set. For more information, see Restoring and Using an Archive Set.
- Select: This button only appears if the archive set selected in the browser list has already been restored. If you click on this button, MainBoss will set itself up so you can examine the contents of the archive set. For more information, see Restoring and Using an Archive Set.
- Search: Searches for a particular archive set in the table.
- Done: Closes the browser window.
