When your organizations declares a piece of equipment obsolete, it is useful to specify a reason: whether the equipment was broken, too expensive to maintain, superseded by a newer model, etc. By recording reasons for taking equipment out of service, you may be able to spot trends that will help you improve your operations.
The Obsolete Codes table lets you set up codes that specify reasons for declaring equipment obsolete. This table is a simple table; for more information, see Simple Tables. You access the Obsolete Codes browser with Units —> Tables —> Obsolete Codes. Entries in the Obsolete Codes table consist of:
For example, a code might be BROKEN and the description might be BROKEN, TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
