LOGOFF - sign off from TSS.

Syntax:

logo [-Verbose]

Description:

There are several ways to log off TSS:

bye
sign off if there are no temp files or if you said "bye +clear". See "expl bye".
logoff
just sign off, deleting all temp files.
off
same as BYE (for the WITS user).
newuser
signs you off then initiates the LOGIN sequence. See "expl newu" and "expl login".
login
quick LOGOFF and LOGIN to new userid.
term
signs you off immediately with no extraneous messages. It is also possible to disconnect your terminal from the computer by typing ctrl-Y. This will result in the message "logical disconnect". Note that if you do this, TSS keeps your userid around for ten minutes -- if you sign back on within that time, you can reconnect (see "expl conn"). Any files you have accessed REMAIN BUSY until you reconnect or the ten minutes expire.

No matter how you sign off, your timesharing session is accounted and your resources used to date are increased. The typical output from LOGOFF looks like this.

Approximate session charges as of 24/Jan/92 at 04:29:56:
 Fixed charge $ 0.10
 Connect time $ 0.07
 Keyboard I/O $ 0.05
 Disk I/O $ 0.16
 Processor/Memory $ 0.01
                             _______
 Total $ 0.31 + $7913.17 = $7913.48 (39.6%)

This means that you used $0.31 of resources working at your timesharing terminal (note: batch and task jobs such as FORTRAN, ALGOL, and GMAP compiles do not get included in this figure, although they are included in the used-to-date figure); and so far you have used $7913.48 of resources, constituting 39.6% of your total (timesharing allows an overdraft of 12% before it doesn't allow you to sign on). Because Datapac charges are billed separately, often to a different account, they are not included in the used-to-date figure.
