CONVERT SUBSYSTEM - dollar control options.

Options:

DEFAult
This option nullifies all options that the user has specified in either the $$ control cards or at the terminal. It is considered an error if it is found anywhere except at the beginning of a $$ control card.
SELEct(infile)
The "select" option allows the input files to select other files as input for the CONVERT family. A maximum of 17 levels of nesting is allowed. Options may be given inside with the same syntax as that on the command line. For example,
$$select(file:time,begin(;),tab(:))
$$select(file(10-100):time,begin(;),tab(:))
$$select(file),time,begin(;),tab(:)

Description:

Dollar control options are for users who don't wish to type everything on the command line, yet want a degree of control on what happens to a file. The syntax of the dollar control cards is two dollar signs followed by any valid command for the CONVERT subsystem. With the above exceptions, the dollar control options are the same as the command line options and are subject to the same restrictions. This allows the user to change the specifications given to the commands if he so desires.
