Application: Man Hours 1
This applies to single or double seated, diaphragm or spring loaded pilot
operated valves.
Items to Check & Initial Completion:
1. ___ Inspect for dirt collected at bleed port and restriction elbow. Clean if
necessary.
2. ___ Inspect joints for leakage. Tighten all bolts
3. ___ Check for dust or other material on the upper face of the pilot pressure
plate. Clean if needed.
4. ___ Remove and clean line strainer (back-flush where possible).
5. ___ Inspect valve head and seats for nicks or abrasions. Notify supervisor if
valve requires regrinding.
6. ___ Inspect pressure reading against set point.
7. ___ Check for free operation of valve stem.
8. ___ Inspect condition of diaphragm.
9. ___ Inspect pilot line for leaks.
10.___ Clean up work area and remove all debris.
Tools & Materials:
1. Standard Tool Kit Plus Pipe wrenches to 24"
Tubing cutters
Flaring tool
Small acetylene outfit
Packing tool kit and packing
3/4" socket set
Crescent wrenches to 14"
2. Cleaning equipment and materials. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS) for hazardous ingredients and proper personal protective equipment
(PPE).
