Special Instructions:
1. Strainer cleaning requires removal of pump unit and should be handled as a
repair.
2. Excessive sediment and debris, not removed by flushing the pit should be
handled on a project basis, and not considered under this guide.
3. Review manufacturer's instructions.
4. If the material removed from the pump is hazardous, contact supervisor for
disposal instructions.
Items to Check & Initial Completion:
1.___ Flush pit and pump out.
2.___ Check bail, floats, rods, and switches. (Make sure float operates as
designed.)
3.___ Inspect and lube motor, and pump (repack if needed).
4.___ Inspect check valves.
5.___ Clean up work area, and remove all debris.

1. Standard Tool Kit
Plus Pipe wrenches to 24"
Tubing cutters
Flaring tool
Small acetylene outfit
Packing tool kit and packing
3/4" socket set
Crescent wrenches to 14"
2. Cleaning equipment and materials. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS) for hazardous ingredients and proper personal protective equipment
(PPE).
3. Lubricants. Consult the MSDS for hazardous ingredients and proper PPE.
