PSTATUS - show peripheral status.

Syntax:

Options:

+All
gives a listing for all devices.
+Verbose
causes a more detailed listing to be given for each device. It includes the device address, the device type, and the number of connects.
device-name
shows the status of the specified device.
Channel=i-cc-dd.s
shows the status of a device, given its input-output multiplexor (iom) number, its channel number and its device number, as shown when the "+Verbose" option is used. This argument may be specified many times in a single command line. If only a channel is specifed, "i-ccc" is specified, then all devices and logical subdevices are listed. Similarly, omitting the subdevice (just "i-ccc-dd") will list all subdevices".

Description:

For all devices or for selected devices, PSTATUS will show information about the device including device name, device type, physical address (iom, channel and device), and some indication as to its use or availability.

If no arguments are given, PSTATUS displays only the information most commonly wanted.

If a tape or unit record device is assigned, PSTATUS will print the snumb of the job that is using it; otherwise, it may print one of the following to indicate the device's status.

rlsd
The device is released.
actnt
The device is being used for accounting (tape only).
dedcd
The device is "dedicated".
t-d
The device is reserved for use by test and diagnostics programs.
is free
The device is available for assignment, but not assigned and not dedicated.

For assigned tape devices only, PSTATUS will finish by typing two numbers. The first is the number of end-of-file marks passed while reading/writing the tape. The second is the number of blocks which have been read/written since the last end-of-file.

For disk devices, PSTATUS will display the disk pack name (five characters) and the usage count for the device.
