The UnRead Command

Syntax:

          UnRead

Examples:

          ur
          *unread

Description:

UnRead marks one or more Saved messages as Unread. It does this by putting an unread message notification in your Unread drawer. When you ask to read the message associated with this notification, MAIL8 displays the Saved message as if it were an Outbound message from someone else.

If you specify a single reference or a message range, UnRead applies to the specified message(s) in the Saved drawer. Otherwise, UnRead applies to the current Saved message. If you are at end-of-drawer, MAIL8 gives you an error.

Once you have read a message, it belongs to you, even if you use UnRead to create a new Unread notification for the message. If the original sender tries to retract the message by deleting the original Outbound message, you still keep the Saved message. Similarly, if the original sender tries to register the message or make it confidential, your copy of the message does not change.
