CLEAR - remove most files from the AFT.

Syntax:

clear

Description:

The CLEAR command removes most files from your AFT. This is necessary at times because the AFT can hold at most 50 entries. The CLEAR command is equivalent to the TSS command

remove clearfiles

CLEAR knows about *cf files from CRUN and DRUN, and will not remove these if you are in command file or $*$TALK mode. It also knows about the workfiles used by FRED (*q1*, etc.), and will never remove these.

If CLEAR responds with the message "file table full", your AFT is full. This means that there is no room for the command loader to load the CLEAR command itself. You will either have to use the REMOVE command to remove at least one file from the AFT, or else use

remove clearfiles

to remove everything.

For those who wish to remove all files EXCEPT a select few, see "fred expl keep".
