Recording License Keys in MainBoss Advanced,
Version 3.4.0

If you are currently running MainBoss, the best way to update your license keys is to enter them before you update MainBoss to a new version. New keys always work with older versions. However, new versions may not work with old keys.

If you are already running MainBoss, you can update your license keys by going to Administration | Licenses. Press F1 or click the Help button at the bottom of the window for further information on entering keys. (In newer versions of MainBoss, the Update Licenses button lets you enter several keys at once by copying them from an e-mail.)

If you have updated your version of MainBoss before you installed new keys, you may find that the new version won't work with the old keys. In this case, you will receive an error message saying "Licenses cannot be used as found" or "No valid license keys found". MainBoss will then go to its "Select MainBoss Organization" window. To enter your keys, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the name of your database in the list of databases. (Most users will only have one name in the list.)
  2. Drop the arrow beside Open Organization and select Administration from the menu.
  3. MainBoss will start running with an abbreviated control panel. Go to Administration | Licenses.
  4. Press F1 or click the Help button at the bottom of the window for further information on entering keys. (You can click Update Licenses to enter several keys at once.)
