Application:                                                Man Hours .75

This applies to valves other than those used on Fire Protection systems.
Maintenance for valves used on fire protection systems are described under the
appropriate PM Inspection for the specific item of fire protection equipment.


Items to Check & Initial Completion:

1.___ Operate valve in full open/closed position.  Loss of ability to close
      tightly will require inspection of valve seals and discs for wear and
      contaminant build-ups.
2.___ Check for sticking valve stems and lubricate stems and fittings sparingly.
3.___ Replace packing; dress, re-bush, or replace packing gland assembly, if
      required.
4.___ Check for freedom of motion on valves equipped with wheel and chain for
      remote operation.
5.___ Clean up work site.


Tools & Materials:

1.  Standard Tool Kit    Plus Pipe wrenches to 24"
         Tubing cutters
         Flaring tool
         Small acetylene outfit
         Packing tool kit and packing
         3/4" socket set
         Crescent wrenches to 14"
2.  Lubricants.  Consult the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for hazardous
    ingredients and proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
