Description:

The UPTIME command displays various statistics about TSS. System uptime is the length of time that TSS has been running without an interruption. The accumulated hours of time that users have been on the system is given, e.g. 3 days, 10 hours, 13 minutes, and 55 seconds; the total number of sessions of people that have signed on and signed off is given, e.g. 299. A count of rejected users is sometimes printed if some people have tried to sign on after TSS has reached its maximum number of users; currently the limit is 90 users at any one time. This count is normally zero and is therefore not displayed except when assignments are overdue.

From these counts, UPTIME computes the average number of users signed on and the average length of a TSS session. Note that when the uptime is greater than 24 hours, this includes overnight times and even weekends.
