GESPEC - special interrupt request.

Usage:

mme gespec

Where:

Q register
contains the file code of the file in question (in bits 24-35). If bit 0 of Q is 1, the special interrupt requirement is turned on; if bit 0 is 0, the special interrupt requirement is turned off. Bits 1-23 of Q must be zero.

Description:

MME GESPEC sets things up so that an I/O request will be accepted, but the actual I/O will not begin until a special interrupt occurs on the device. MME GESPEC can also turn off this kind of special interrupt requirement when it has been set by a previous MME GESPEC call.

MME GESPEC may be performed on a card reader, care punch, or printer. Other devices are not allowed.

When MME GESPEC returns, the value of the A register will indicate success or failure. Possible values are:

0 -- success
1 -- no action taken; file code not in PAT
2 -- no action taken; invalid device
