Option +ShiftInShiftOut (+SISO)
Option -ShiftInShiftOut (-SISO)
This option affects the way that MAIL8 displays the ASCII ShiftIn and ShiftOut characters on the terminal screen (for example, when displaying a message with the Print command).
With +ShiftInShiftOut, the characters are displayed as is (which means your terminal must be able to handle the characters and display them appropriately).
With -ShiftInShiftOut, the characters are displayed as escape sequences of the form \nnn, where nnn are three octal digits giving the numeric value of the character.
The MAIL8 administrator at each site may decide whether the site default should be +SISO or -SISO. Individual users can use the Option command to change the setting if they don't like the default.
